Blair praises Londoners "stoicism"

From today's online Guardian:
"I would also pay tribute to the stoicism and resilience of the people of London who have responded in a way typical of them."

Evidence that this class has stuck in my brain: I picked up today's paper and the front page story was of course about the terrorist attacks in London. My first response was not "what a tragedy" (well ok that's a mis-use, though a common one, of the word tragedy but that's not my point)but rather "oh, what are they saying about British stoicism?".

That warms the cockles of an Instructor's heart! ("cockles " is an appropriately British word ;--)
