What a Lad Looks Like
You may have seen one of these on campus. Observe the Poster Child for what our culture regards as absolute failure: a young working-class male between the ages of fifteen and thirty-five. A lad, in other words. And thus does society turn boys into lads ....

In Engl 369 Dr.Ogden gave us a blog post on the class system in Britain (May 6th)which quoted George Orwell on the working class's attitude towards 'educaction' and on the middle class's attitude toward the working class. If the working class doesn't want to be part of the middle class it might not object to the poster

The working class guy might even consider having his image widely circulated to be a feather in his cap.
